How it works

From the page on your stand to a score that follows you.

No catalogue to choose from, no songs you didn't pick. Bring the music you already want to play.

  1. Sharp — hold still
    1

    Snap the page

Photograph sheet music with the in-app camera — it tells you when the page is flat and sharp — or import a PDF or image. About a minute later, it's a score.

  2. Your photo

    What we read

    Key signature fixed
    2

    Check the reading

Compare the score with your photo, side by side. If a clef or key signature was misread, fix it with a tap before you play a note.

  3. Keyboard connected4 of 4 right
    3

    Play — Orphia follows

Connect your keyboard and start. Every note lights up as you play it, and the score waits for you or keeps the beat — your choice.

Why Orphia

Your music deserves a coach, too.

Learning apps coach you, but only through their own songs. Score readers show your music, but never tell you how you played it. Orphia is the one that does both.

Feedback

Hear what a teacher would tell you

After each run, Orphia looks for the patterns behind your mistakes — not just which notes were wrong, but why. Rushing the beat. Slipping a semitone on accidentals. Reading a third too low. Each finding says where, in plain language.

  • Findings across pitch, timing, rhythm, hands, reading, consistency and touch
  • Points to the exact bars
  • Tells you how sure it is

Free shows your top finding each session. Pro shows every finding, with the reason.

Drills

Fix it in five minutes, not five weeks

Every finding comes with a drill: the bars that need work, played slowly, then brought up to tempo one step at a time. Clear a step and the ladder climbs. Reach full tempo and the passage is yours.

  • Built from your own playing
  • A tempo ladder that only counts clean runs
  • Then back into the whole piece

Free includes one drill a month. Pro drills every finding.

The programme

Made for players with music they love.

Orphia is for people who can read a little music and want to play real pieces — properly.

No. 1

Coming back to the piano

You played for years, then life happened. The old books are still on the shelf. Orphia meets you where your hands are now and gets you back to the pieces you loved.

No. 2

Practising between lessons

Your teacher hears you once a week. Orphia hears every run in between — so you arrive with the hard bars already fixed, not just played more often.

No. 3

Teaching yourself

You can read music and you've got real repertoire in mind. What's missing is someone to say what's actually going wrong. That's the job Orphia does.

A note of honesty: Orphia isn't a game that teaches piano from zero. If you've never read music, start with lessons — and bring Orphia in once you're playing real pieces.

Practice is personal. We keep it that way.

Orphia listens to your keyboard, not to you. Your scans stay private to your account, and you can take your data with you — or delete it — whenever you like.

Questions

Before you sit down.

All questions
What is Orphia?

Orphia is a piano practice app for the sheet music you already own. Photograph a page, and Orphia turns it into a score that follows you as you play — marking every note, finding the patterns behind your mistakes, and giving you short drills to fix them.

What do I need?

An iPad, iPhone or Android tablet or phone, and a digital piano or MIDI keyboard connected by USB or Bluetooth. A tablet on the music stand is the nicest way to use it; phones work in landscape.

Most digital pianos made in the last decade have MIDI. If yours has a USB port marked “USB to Host”, or Bluetooth MIDI, you're set.

Is Orphia for complete beginners?

Orphia works best if you can already read a little music and want to play real pieces — returning players, students between lessons, and self-taught players. If you're just starting out, Wait mode and note names help a lot, but Orphia isn't a game-style course that teaches piano from zero.

What sheet music can Orphia read?

Printed piano music — books, photocopies, and PDFs. Handwritten music isn't supported yet. Clean, well-lit pages give the best results.

How does Orphia know what I'm doing wrong?

Your keyboard tells Orphia exactly which notes you played and when. Orphia compares that with the score across your runs and looks for patterns — like rushing in the same bars, or missing the same accidental — then tells you what it found, where, and how sure it is.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free gives you unlimited practice, 3 scanned pages a month, your top finding after each session and one drill a month. Pro scans up to 150 pages a month and unlocks every finding, unlimited drills, longer daily plans with spaced reviews, your skill profile, and replays of every run.

The stage is lit. Sit down and play.

Take the piece you've always wanted to get right, put it on the stand, and let Orphia follow you through it — one note at a time.
